Product Description

The specially designed MPI SAFE SIGNAL Day/Night Mirror has a patented two-sided reflective surface. SAFE SIGNAL is manufactured from two layers of a specially prepared polycarbonate resin material that is bonded together with a sophisticated waterproof adhesive structure. SAFE SIGNAL is salt and corrosion resistant, shatterproof and will maintain its unique two sided reflective qualities for many years.

Nighttime Use
Angle the beam of a well-focused flashlight off of the red mirror surface to create an extremely visible flare-like beacon that can be seen as far as 3 miles. Move the flashlight up and down or back and forth across the red surface to create a flashing red signal to attract the attention of rescuers.

Daylight Use
Use the MPI SAFE SIGNAL Day/Night Mirror as a standard signal mirror. With the sun as the light source, create an angled reflection in front of you. By tilting the mirror, move the reflection upward and outward from your position. You are not really aiming the beacon of light, unless you have a specific target. You are creating a series of intermittent flashes that can be seen from great distances to attract attention of rescuers or others in your party.

SAFE SIGNAL includes a 3 foot polyester cord lanyard making it easy to attach to any personal flotation device or to wear around your neck, being available "if and when needed". It also comes with a small protective drawstring pouch.

The SAFE SIGNAL Day/Night Mirror is proudly a key component of the Cardinal Gear SK-101 Survival Kit.

SAFE SIGNAL is proudly made in the USA. Make SAFE SIGNAL Day/Night Mirror a part of your emergency kit today!

Tip:
When trying to attract the attention of search and rescue teams, if possible, create a signal fire. In daylight, create a smoky signal fire by throwing fresh pine or evergreen boughs on a fire.

In twilight, create a hot, brightly burning fire using dry, dead materials. This creates a hotter fire that will burn quickly, so plan to have plenty of added kindling on hand.
