Nature and Survival for Children covers basic but very important topics that you can help instill in your children. Help them learn to identify plants and animals, stalk and track animals, find water and food in nature and understand good safety and first aid practices. There's not an overabundance of pictures and what pictures there are consist of very intelligible sketches - unlike the instructions that come with that thing-a-ma-jig you bought that was made in China. Tom Brown's books get good reviews because they are well-written and contain useful material.
